After the movie "IN THE HEIGHTS" received backlash from the Afrolatino community, most people didn't understand the reasoning behind it, including members of the Latino community. This is an explanation of the reasons that caused it, as well as my personal journey dealing with and overcoming, the psychological/emotional scars produced by Colorism.
